2027: Shettima Urges Northern Creatives to Support Tinubu’s Re-election

Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged northern-based professionals in the creative industry to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027, citing fairness and national unity.

Shettima made the appeal on Wednesday while receiving a delegation of Northern Performing Artists under the auspices of Triple-R For Renewed Hope at the All Progressives Congress campaign office in Abuja.

The Vice President said the North stood to benefit from the administration’s creative economy initiatives and assured artists, filmmakers and musicians in the region of continued government support.

He urged the delegation to remain committed to the Tinubu administration and the APC, saying the government’s programmes and policies would continue to produce benefits across different sectors.

Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, said Tinubu’s re-election should be assessed against the administration’s record and achievements.

Yari also urged creative industry professionals to disregard claims by political opponents that the North had been excluded from government appointments and projects. He said the region had been fairly treated by the administration.

Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, who serves as Deputy Director-General, Parliamentary Mobilisation, of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, thanked the group for its support for APC candidates, including Tinubu.

He said government programmes and policies were creating opportunities for the creative sector and urged professionals to take advantage of them.

APC National Chairman and former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje also thanked the group for its support and called for greater investment in the entertainment industry through infrastructure and training for emerging artists.

The President of Triple-R For Renewed Hope, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, pledged the group’s support for Tinubu and other APC candidates across the North in the 2027 elections.

Rarara said northern creatives were united behind the group’s political mobilisation and described their support as based on the administration’s performance.

The group’s National Chairman, Lawan Ahmad, and Secretary, Ahmad Bifa, separately expressed their readiness to campaign for Tinubu and APC candidates.

They also called on the Federal Government to support the reorganisation of the creative industry in northern Nigeria, particularly through improved infrastructure and welfare for professionals.
