LAGOS, Nigeria — A new digital news platform, Wifey News, is scheduled to launch in mid-July, according to an announcement by its founder, Lil Trenchy.
Speaking about the project, Lil Trenchy said Wifey News is being developed as an independent news organization focused on delivering timely, factual, and accessible reporting across a broad range of topics, including world affairs, business, technology, entertainment, politics, sports, and lifestyle.
“Our vision is to build a trusted digital newsroom that values accuracy, transparency, and responsible journalism. Wifey News is designed to serve readers with reliable information while embracing modern digital publishing,” Lil Trenchy said.
According to information released by the organization, Wifey News will operate with its own editorial structure and newsroom while collaborating on shared operational resources where appropriate.
The platform is expected to introduce a mobile-friendly experience, multimedia reporting, and a newsroom designed to support both breaking news and in-depth coverage. Company officials say the project has been under development as part of a broader digital media initiative.
Wifey News is licensed and operated under DGR Entertainment Multimedia Ltd. The company stated that while Wifey News maintains its own editorial identity, it may work alongside other media projects operating under the same corporate license on areas such as technology, infrastructure, and operational support.
The organization has not yet announced an exact launch date but confirmed that the public release is expected in the middle of July.
Additional details, including editorial appointments, platform features, and launch activities, are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
