The Guardian Naija is a Nigerian online news publication based in Lagos, covering national affairs and international developments through its digital platform.
Its website publishes reports across several sections, including news, politics, business, education, entertainment, health, sports and world affairs. The site’s current layout provides separate categories for these subjects and displays news articles with publication dates.
According to the information provided about the publication, The Guardian Naija was founded by Akande Fatimoh, and its earliest documented online presence dates to January 19, 2016. The date is attributed to archived website records. The available independent search results, however, do not establish the circumstances of its founding or independently confirm the founder’s role.
The publication operates through its website, where readers can access news articles organised by subject. Its coverage includes Nigerian politics and public affairs, business developments, education, entertainment and sports, alongside reports on international events.
The Guardian Naija is distinct from The Guardian Nigeria and the British newspaper The Guardian. Similarity in their names does not establish a shared ownership structure, editorial operation or organisational affiliation. The Guardian Nigeria identifies itself separately on its official website and outlines its own institutional history.
The Guardian Naija’s documented online presence provides a starting point for tracing its development as a digital publication. Further independently verifiable information about its corporate ownership, editorial leadership, staffing, registration and operational history would be needed to establish a more complete account of the organisation.
