The Federal Government has announced the dates for the final oral interview stage of the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for four paramilitary agencies, directing shortlisted applicants to confirm their status through the official recruitment portal.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) said the announcement followed the completion of its assessment and shortlisting process for candidates who participated in the physical and medical screening exercise for recruitment into the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (retd.), the CDCFIB said candidates would be required to check their shortlisting status online before proceeding to the final stage of the recruitment process. The Board stressed that applicants should rely only on its official recruitment platform for information concerning the exercise.
Candidates who applied under the Graduate Category have been given a three-day window to establish whether they were selected for the oral interview. According to the Board, the affected applicants are to access the recruitment portal between Monday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 2, 2026, to check their status.
Applicants who entered the recruitment exercise with NCE, OND or SSCE qualifications will have a separate opportunity to confirm their shortlisting. The Board said candidates in those categories should visit the same portal between Monday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 9, 2026, to determine whether they have qualified for the oral interview.
The Board directed successful candidates to carefully follow the instructions provided on the portal if they are shortlisted. Such applicants will be required to select a venue that is closest to them, as well as choose an available date and time for the interview.
After completing the selection process, shortlisted candidates are expected to print their invitation letters and attend the interview in the dress code specified in the letters. The CDCFIB made clear that access to the interview venues would be restricted to applicants who had successfully made the shortlist for the final stage.
The clarification is intended to ensure that candidates understand that participation in earlier stages of the recruitment exercise does not automatically guarantee entry into the oral interview. Applicants must first confirm their names on the shortlist and complete the required arrangements through the designated recruitment platform.
The Board also issued a warning concerning unofficial communication and possible fraudulent recruitment schemes. Jibril said the CDCFIB would not send emails to candidates regarding the exercise and instructed applicants to obtain recruitment information strictly through the official portal.
The warning comes alongside the Board’s reminder that the recruitment exercise is entirely free of charge. Candidates were advised not to make payments to individuals or groups claiming that money is required to secure employment in any of the four paramilitary organisations.
According to the CDCFIB, any demand for payment in connection with the recruitment should be treated as illegitimate. Applicants were therefore urged to remain cautious and avoid relying on unofficial sources or intermediaries who may attempt to exploit the recruitment process.
The Board further encouraged candidates to take note of the official recruitment portal and use it as the primary channel for checking their status and receiving legitimate updates. It said all valid communications relating to the exercise would be made through the official platform.
The oral interview represents the final exercise for candidates who successfully progress through the recruitment process. The latest announcement therefore provides applicants with the specific dates on which they must verify their eligibility and, where shortlisted, make arrangements for their appearance at the designated venue.
With separate dates provided for Graduate Category applicants and those who applied with NCE, OND or SSCE qualifications, the Board has urged candidates to pay close attention to the schedule applicable to their category and avoid missing the designated period for checking their status.
Applicants are also expected to comply with the instructions contained in their invitation letters, particularly regarding the venue, interview date, time and prescribed dress code. The Board’s directive means that candidates who have not been shortlisted for the oral interview will not be admitted to the final exercise venues.
The CDCFIB reiterated that candidates should depend on official information rather than messages circulated by third parties. It specifically stated that it does not communicate recruitment updates through emails, making the official portal the channel applicants should use for confirmation and further instructions.
The recruitment exercise covers vacancies across the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The Board’s latest notice now moves the process into its concluding stage following the completion of the physical and medical screening and subsequent assessment of applicants.
Candidates are therefore expected to monitor the portal within the dates assigned to their qualification category and complete any required steps without relying on unofficial agents. The Board maintained that the recruitment process remains transparent and free, while warning applicants against anyone seeking financial payment in exchange for employment.
