Troops also recovered weapons and ammunition following an attack in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State on October 12. Troops responding to an attack on a resident travelling between Dogon Dawa and Takama village in Kaduna State on October 10 recovered an AK-47 rifle and 15 rounds of ammunition. Subsequent tracking led to the arrest of Yusuf Iliya Sani at Maraban Kakini. He was accused of involvement in kidnapping, extortion, sexual assault and killings in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

The Defence Headquarters said the operations formed part of ongoing military efforts against terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the country.
