Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has praised First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for her humanitarian interventions and support for vulnerable Nigerians as she marks her 66th birthday.
Alia, in a message issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, said Tinubu’s activities through the Renewed Hope Initiative had provided support to different groups, including women, youths, widows, orphans and senior citizens.
The governor also highlighted her economic empowerment programmes, particularly initiatives supporting petty traders and small-scale entrepreneurs.
According to him, the interventions have helped beneficiaries improve their livelihoods and provide for their families.
Alia further cited Tinubu’s work in healthcare and education, including medical outreaches, maternal health advocacy, HPV vaccination campaigns and menstrual hygiene programmes for schoolgirls.
He specifically acknowledged her assistance to communities in Benue affected by violence.
“We appreciate your humanitarian interventions, particularly your assistance to our communities affected by armed herdsmen attacks and other difficult circumstances,” Alia said.
The governor said the First Lady’s support for girls’ education, youth opportunities and skills acquisition demonstrated an emphasis on human capital development.
He added that her programmes for women, children, youths and other vulnerable Nigerians had contributed to efforts aimed at improving their welfare.
Alia prayed for continued guidance and blessings for Tinubu, wishing her good health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment in her service to the nation.
