Kane Ready to Sacrifice Ballon d’Or for First Champions League Title

Harry Kane has made winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich his priority, saying he would trade the next Ballon d’Or for the European title as he pursues the one major club honour missing from his career.

The England striker made the admission ahead of Bayern’s Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, underlining his desire to win the competition with the Bundesliga club.

“I think I’d swap the next Ballon d’Or for a Champions League triumph,” Kane said.

“Ballon d’Or was one of the greatest moments of my life. But winning the Champions League with Bayern – that would be an absolutely incredible feeling.”

Bayern came close to reaching the final last season but were eliminated in the semi-finals after losing 6-5 on aggregate to eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Kane, who previously played for Tottenham Hotspur, has yet to win the Champions League. A triumph with Bayern would give the former Tottenham striker his first title in the competition.
