OPay Wins Digital Bank and Financial Inclusion Awards at BAFI 2026

OPay has won the Digital Bank of the Year and Financial Inclusion Leader of the Year awards at the 14th BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards 2026 in Lagos.

The awards were presented on October 9 at the Civic Centre, recognising the company’s role in digital financial services and efforts to expand access to formal financial services in Nigeria.

OPay provides financial services through mobile applications, USSD, cards, digital wallets and agency banking. The company says its network serves tens of millions of users and supports more than one million merchants and businesses.

These channels enable customers and businesses to carry out everyday financial transactions, while the company’s agents and merchants provide access to digital financial services in communities across the country.

Commenting on the awards, OPay’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, Dotun Adekunle, thanked BusinessDay for recognising achievements in Nigeria’s financial services industry.

“These awards reaffirm our focus on delivering reliable and secure services that create real value for Nigerians,” Adekunle said.

He added: “Our services are Okay, our people are Okay, and OPay is Okay.”

The recognition places OPay among the financial service providers acknowledged at this year’s BAFI Awards for their contributions to Nigeria’s banking and financial services sector.
