Real Madrid defender Marc Cucurella has urged patience with manager Jose Mourinho, saying it is too early to assess his work at the club.

Cucurella made the remarks during a press conference on Friday, noting that Real Madrid should be judged at the end of the season.

Mourinho has lost two of Real Madrid’s opening seven LaLiga matches since returning to the club. Defeats against Real Betis and Atletico Madrid have left the team six points behind Barcelona.

“At Madrid, we have just started with a new manager, and it’s too soon to speak,” Cucurella said.

“Some players only had a week-long pre-season before starting.

“The beginning of the season hasn’t been what we all hoped for, but it’s a process, and we will see where we are at the end of the campaign.”
