Dangote Cement Transport has received the Champion of Transport Industry Development Award from the Transport Correspondents Association of Nigeria.
The recognition was presented during the third Transport Summit organised by TCAN in Lagos, where stakeholders examined ways to improve Nigeria’s transport sector.
TCAN cited the company’s contribution to road transport operations, safety standards and logistics efficiency in presenting the award.
Head of Dangote Cement Transport, Murilo Silva, accepted the award on behalf of the company’s transport management.
Silva said the recognition reflected the efforts of the company’s drivers, safety teams, transport personnel and operational partners.
“We are deeply honoured to receive this award from the Transport Correspondents Association of Nigeria. This recognition reflects Dangote Cement Transport’s unwavering commitment to developing a safe, efficient and sustainable transport system that supports economic growth and national development,” he said.
He said transportation plays an important role in industrialisation, trade and economic activity, adding that Dangote Cement would continue investing in technology, safety measures and operational efficiency.
Silva also dedicated the award to the transport professionals, drivers, engineers and logistics personnel involved in moving the company’s products across its distribution network.
The summit brought together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders and other stakeholders for discussions on transport infrastructure, including port modernisation, rail integration and cooperation between public agencies and private operators.
