The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has called on Christians and other eligible Nigerians to actively participate in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a church service at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo emphasised the importance of civic engagement, describing participation in elections as both a constitutional right and a civic responsibility.
Delivering a sermon titled “Breaking the Curses of Life,” the cleric encouraged members of the congregation to ensure they were registered voters and prepared to exercise their franchise during future elections.
According to him, Christians should not remain indifferent to political developments but should take an active interest in governance by making informed choices at the ballot box.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations,” Oyedepo told worshippers, noting that members of the church are spread across numerous countries around the world.
He stressed that voting remains one of the most effective ways for citizens to contribute to the leadership and direction of their nations, adding that believers have a legitimate role in shaping the future of their societies through democratic participation.
“We are not passers-by in our nations. We are bona fide citizens of the nation, and we have a right to participate in who governs us,” he said.
The cleric urged eligible Nigerians to obtain and safeguard their voter cards, describing the right to vote as an important constitutional privilege that should not be neglected.
His remarks come as political activities and public discussions surrounding the 2027 general elections gradually gain momentum across the country.
