An armed man in his early 20s was killed early Sunday morning after entering the secured grounds of Mar-a-Lago, according to the United States Secret Service.
Officials said the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. when the man allegedly crossed into the restricted area without authorization. He was seen near the property’s north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun along with a fuel container.
Secret Service agents, assisted by a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, confronted the individual. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that no Secret Service personnel or sheriff’s deputies were injured during the encounter. They also stated that no protected individuals, including former President Donald Trump, were present at the estate at the time.
The incident took place in Palm Beach. Officials have not released further details about the man’s identity or motive.
