The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson, has threatened to personally confront individuals he alleges may manipulate the outcome of the state’s election.
Pidomson made the remarks in a video circulating online, saying he would not challenge allegedly rigged results through post-election litigation.
He said his campaign would instead work to prevent any attempt to manipulate the results before they were announced.
“We are going to stop them from rigging,” Pidomson said.
He questioned the idea of announcing allegedly manipulated results and expecting an aggrieved candidate to seek redress in court.
“For me, I don’t believe that somebody will just go and write and announce results, then think it will end in court. I’m not going to court,” he said.
Pidomson then warned that he would pursue those he believed were responsible for rigging the election.
“If you rig my results and I know you, I will follow you after the election. It will not just end there,” he said.
