A suspected terrorist has surrendered to Nigerian troops in Borno State through the Chadian Defence Forces (CDF), amid ongoing security operations in the Lake Chad region.
The suspect was handed over to troops of the 152 Task Force Battalion in Banki at about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the development in a post on his X handle.
The suspect, a man who claimed to be an indigene of Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State, was handed over by the CM Intelligence Service of the Bargaram Division of the CDF.
He is currently in the custody of Nigerian troops for profiling, interrogation and further action in line with established procedures.
The handover highlights ongoing cross-border security cooperation and intelligence sharing among security forces operating across the Lake Chad Basin.
